On Wednesday, Aug. 8 the so-called Holy Fire roared in Orange County until on Thursday, Aug. 9 continued to grow. The huge impact on the environment as well as on the people in Orange County also roared on social media. Many people posted photos and videos of the fire and sky or the environment caused by the event.
Most of the photos posted to social media were of the heavy, thick and grey smoke filling the sky due to the massive fire burning. Videos are revealing the blaze explodes and spreading throughout Orange County.
People are praying for safety and also feeling shock by the Holy Fire. Some of them are also concerned about the safety of the firefighters and others are worried about the air quality.

@neuroticcrow: “The Holy Fire creeping into Lake Elsinore last night. I hope for the safety of the brave firefighters doing what they can to keep communities safe.”
@Amanda Connelly: “From my office window at home. Thinking of the responders and hoping everyone stays safe.”
Rachel Kang, a student in Orange County, said: “Hope it won’t get worse, and no one get hurts.”
Reactions to the Holy Fire in Orange County are almost covering everywhere through social media. “Safety” takes the first place as people hearing the news, images in social media also let more people pay attention to this matter and give important information to the crowds.
People throughout Orange County and in North San Diego County are taking to social media to share photos and videos to show what they see or hear about the Holy Fire. Within 3 hours, the fire grew to more than 1,000 acres with a seven to 10 acre initially.
Then another huge group of people are serious about environment and air quality. People can tell by the images they posted to public that thick heavy smoke is spreading out and the wind also brings up the dust and ashes which makes blurred vision that troubles the road safety. Additionally, respiratory infection may occurs at the same time due to the low air quality.
After the Holy Fire suspect was arrested, people who treated this event as a natural disaster is now terrified and angry about what he might done, some are still curious about what he said “this place will burn”.
Social media reaction to the Holy Fire in Orange County is diverse. People post their thoughts and comments not only to show their views or the scene at the time, but also to convey useful information to many people who are unaware of or concerned about this event.
