▶ Declaration of the ‘New Trump Era’
Donald Trump, who has emphasized "America First" policies, will be inaugurated on January 20th as the 47th President of the United States. Despite facing massive legal challenges stemming from his denial of the 2020 election results and the January 6th Capitol riots in 2021, Trump has successfully staged a historic comeback after four years, ushering in the Trump 2.0 era.
With the launch of his second administration, characterized by a U.S.-centric approach that disregards allies and adversaries alike, the global security and international trade order—including the Korean Peninsula—are expected to enter another period of significant transformation. In particular, Trump’s aggressive territorial expansionist stance, dubbed "Donro Doctrine" (a blend of Trump’s name Donald and former President Monroe), suggests that the re-elected Trump administration will not simply be an extension of his first term but a more assertive "MAGA government," keeping the world on edge.
Furthermore, as China, Russia (amid its invasion of Ukraine), North Korea, and Iran challenge the U.S.-led global order, Trump's return to the White House is predicted to accelerate shifts in the post-war international system, which has traditionally relied on democratic values and free trade.
President-elect Trump’s inauguration ceremony will be held on the 20th at the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. He will take the oath of office before Chief Justice John Roberts, deliver his inaugural speech, and unveil his vision for the next four years. According to the U.S. Constitution, Trump’s term officially begins at noon (9 AM LA Time).
During his campaign, Trump had hinted at his intention to "govern like a dictator for a day" on his first day in office. He is expected to issue over 100 executive orders covering economic, trade, immigration, energy, and foreign policy issues to jumpstart his administration.
On January 19th, Trump announced that he would swiftly pursue his promises to block illegal immigration, revitalize the U.S. energy industry, and repeal all policies implemented by the Biden administration. Speaking at a victory rally held at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., he declared, "Starting tomorrow (January 20th), I will act with historic speed and strength to address every crisis facing our nation."
