For the last decade, the world has seen a remarkable and rapid development in the technological field. Smartphones have been going through constant improvements including waterproof capabilities, higher resolutions, and being able to capture videos in 4k quality that can later be wirelessly transferred into one’s laptop. Is it not remarkable? Many of us would be quite indifferent to these developments because we have been actively participating using these devices that it just seems ‘normal.’ Technology has continually been an active part in our lives, and those who seize it are using it to its limits.
Without any doubt, technology continues to become bigger and bigger. For example, the art of artificial intelligence or AI has become more abstract. Products like Apple Siri, Google Now, Amazon’s Alexa, and Microsoft’s Corona will continue to develop into having more human-like qualities. Close to the development of AI, the robotics industry is a 32 billion dollar market. The field of robotic development has not been integrated into human life, but projects such as Jibo and Pepper are on the rise. In 2016, the prevalence of the Virtual Reality system is a big step into a whole new world of technology. VR headsets give a real life virtual experience from video games to real life events. While VR headsets still have a long way to go, the new Virtual Reality developers are on their way in making this VR experience a ‘real’ experience.
Remember when we had keys, pins, and passwords that could be hacked? While we still have them, Bio-Security has taken a big leap in the past decade. Fingerprint recognition, first implemented by Apple, was integrated into the Apple IPhones, following several other cellphone brands that integrated the fingerprint feature. However, Windows 10 took a step to integrate a face recognition feature on their laptops, making Bio-Security more involved in how we manage our privacy.
While many of other technological products that hit the market was not that impressive such as the hoverboards and drones, technology is becoming so integrated into our lives that we can’t simply function without it. It may seem that technology can’t expand more from here, but it can. Phones, computers, and even our social life will become dominated by technology. We have reached to the point that car mechanics need to go to Auto Mechanics School because of how much technology has changed the design and interior functions of cars. With all these in mind, is there anything else that technology can’t do
