?he latest Census figures document the remarkable growth of California? new multiethnic majority and explain why this state is now Ground Zero for the country? burgenoning ethnic news media, says Sandy Close, founder and Executive Director of New California Media. ?he EXPO aims to dramatically
expand ethnic media? presence on the marketing map.
Over 3000 guests advertisers and advertising agency executives, leaders of mainstream and online media, government agencies, foundations, PR and marketing firms, national non profits, interested citizens will attend a day of exhibits, panels, consulting sessions, networking and recruiting possibilities showcasing ethnic media. Topics include: what makes ethnic media ?thnic and how to do business with it; why ethnic markets hold the key to long-term growth; models for mainstream and ethnic media collaboration; who? reaching America? most diverse population?outh; special consulting sessions for ethnic media on how to grow your ad base; and a brown bag lunch conversation ?s there room for the literary voice?

The NCM Awards will feature the ?ew generation of ethnic media creators and ?he best of California? ethnic news media. Keynote speaker is Christy Haubegger, Publisher, Latina Magazine. Special NCM award winners
are Alberta Lee (daughter of Wen Ho Lee) and Benjamin Todd Jealous (executive director of NNPA-The Black Press of America).
Over 150 print, broadcast and online media exhibitors from giants like Univision, Radio Unica, Sing Tao, Sina.com, World Journal, Korea Central Daily to niche publications like India West, Iran Today, WAVE, California Advocate, Pakistan Link; to grassroots media outlets like Hmong TV and the journal of Frente Binacional de Oxaca will show visitors how they connect local and global markets, from Bakersfield to Shanghai.
Admission to the EXPO from 9 to 5 is free. Vendors will sell food during
