“We look forward to active exchanges between Buena Park and Korean businesses and educational institutions.”
A delegation from the Buena Park city government, led by Mayor Joyce Ahn, along with representatives from the Orange County Korean American Chamber of Commerce, visited Korean businesses and government offices between the 17th and 21st of last month to enhance cooperation in economic and educational fields.
During this visit, the delegation toured the headquarters and automated warehouse of ‘StyleKorean,’ a Korean company that acquired the Amway building in Buena Park last year. They observed the company’s business model and discussed collaboration with other firms preparing to enter the U.S. market.
The delegation also visited the ‘InnobiZ Association’ (Korea Association for Small and Medium Enterprises Technology Innovation), Gwanak-gu Office, and the Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) to broaden economic exchanges. The goal is to support Korean companies in entering the U.S. market more seamlessly through Buena Park.
Additionally, the delegation visited Ansan City, a sister city of Buena Park, to discuss cooperation on the ongoing ‘Friendship Park’ project. Both Ansan City and Seongbuk-gu have agreed to contribute to this initiative, which aims to create a meaningful pavilion and garden to symbolize friendship.
The delegation included seven members: Buena Park Mayor Joyce Ahn, Assistant Mayor Connor Traut, Community Services Director Jim Box, Economic Analyst Lauren Yoon, as well as Orange County Korean American Chamber of Commerce Vice President Jonathan Park, Director Charles Lee, and Stan Kwak, a real estate expert from Boyd Real Estate.
Joining the trip were John Cho, Chair of the Buena Park Sister Cities Committee, Scott Oh, and Alan McAuley.
Meanwhile, ten students from Buena Park High School visited Seongbuk-gu, another sister city, as part of an exchange program, spending time interacting with local students. Now in its seventh year, this program provides students with opportunities to build global networks and further strengthens the friendly ties between the two cities. Two assistant principals accompanied the students on this visit.
