▶ Promotion and Sales at the Korean Festival
▶ Variety Includes Bibimbap Sauce, Seaweed Chips, and More
Inje County, Gangwon Province, is promoting and selling a variety of clean and healthy food products at this year's LA Korean Festival. From September 26 to 29, Inje County will participate in the "51st Korean Festival Special Sales Event" held at Seoul International Park in LA, supporting products from outstanding local small businesses.
On the 26th, key figures such as Kim Wang-gi, Senior Manager of the Gangwon Province Economic Promotion Agency, Yeon-soo Kim, CEO of Sanchaeman, Seong-gyu Choi, Director of Namul Goeun, and Yangwon Lim, Korea Branch Manager of the distribution company Woori, visited our office for an interview.
During the festival, special products from Inje County, such as Namul Bibimbap Sauce (made from wild vegetables) and bugak (nutritional snacks made from seaweed, potatoes, and peppers), will be showcased, promoted, and sold as featured items.
Yeon-soo Kim, CEO of Sanchaeman, which produces the Namul Bibimbap Sauce, shared, "When I attended the Korean Festival for the first time last year, I nearly sold out all of our products. This year, we have a wider range of products, offering consumers more options." Kim also emphasized, "We plan to offer dried vegetables such as chwinamul (aster) and gondre (Korean thistle) as free gifts with purchases of more than $30 of sauce."
Seong-gyu Choi, Director of Namul Goeun, stated, "This is my fifth year attending the LA Korean Festival. Last year, we participated with hwangtae bugak (pollack chips), but due to import restrictions on Russian pollack products, we are participating with seaweed, potato, and pepper bugak this year."
At last year's 50th LA Korean Festival Special Sales Event, four companies from Inje County participated, achieving total sales of $92,000 with products like omija (Schisandra berry) and hwangtae (pollack) processed foods, showcasing the excellence of Inje County products.
Kim Wang-gi, Senior Manager of the Gangwon Province Economic Promotion Agency, noted, "Inje County provided full budget support for this event, and our agency handled the practical aspects, from recruiting participants to on-site support. We hope that this event will allow Korean residents to experience the clean agricultural products of Inje County and open new sales channels for small businesses through this exchange."
