▶ September 28th (Saturday) at 3 PM ▶ Highlight of the LA Korean Festival
▶ Intergenerational Unity & Racial Harmony ▶ Participation from Over 100 Businesses and Organizations
The highlight of the largest celebration in the Korean American community, the 51st Korean Parade, will take place on Saturday, September 28th, from 3 PM to 5 PM along Olympic Boulevard in the heart of LA’s Koreatown. Organized by The Korea Times, a leading Korean media outlet in the U.S., this year’s parade will be held under the theme “Together for a Better Korean Community” to emphasize intergenerational unity and racial harmony.
Over the years, the Korean American community has strived to break through invisible barriers and fiercely compete to make inroads into mainstream society. However, in this relentless pursuit, there have been missed opportunities for intergenerational solidarity and racial harmony.
Now is the time to pause and reflect on whether any members of our community have been left behind in this competitive race. It is also time to strengthen our bonds with neighboring communities of other races. Moving forward, we must aim for a more inclusive Korean community where no one is left behind, bridging generational and racial divides to build a stronger and more united Korean community.
The 51st Korean Parade: A Call for Future-Oriented Cooperation and Unity Across Generations and Races
This year’s 51st Korean Parade will feature prominent political figures from the mainstream community and leaders from the Korean American community marching together, pledging future-oriented cooperation and racial harmony. Key institutions and organizations representing the Korean community in Southern California will participate, reaffirming their commitment to intergenerational unity.
The parade will be enlivened by stunning performances from traditional Korean musical groups (nongak) and dance troupes, showcasing the beauty of Korean culture. Additionally, a vibrant lineup of multicultural teams and marching bands will provide an even more diverse and exciting spectacle than ever before.
We invite the continued love and support of the Korean American community for this year's Korean Parade, which proudly declares our determined march toward a hopeful future, overcoming challenges, sweat, and tears.
