▶ 21st Anniversary of the Korean-American Art and Culture Federation (KACF)
The 4th regular performance("When Light Becomes Flowers") of the Korean-American Art and Culture Federation (President Junbae Kim, hereafter referred to as KACF) will be held at 5 PM on the 17th at Sae Nuri Church (964 S. Berendo, LA) located in Koreatown, LA.
Founded in May 2003, KACF is an organization dedicated to fostering camaraderie among Korean-American artists, protecting their rights, and advancing the arts and culture within the Korean-American community. It is a nonprofit organization approved by the California state government and is comprised of 10 associations and branches representing various art fields, including traditional Korean music, dance, fine arts, architecture, photography, literature, theater, film, entertainment, and music.
President Junbae Kim stated, "This performance is a meaningful event commemorating the 21st anniversary of our founding and the 79th anniversary of Korea's Liberation Day," adding, "Given the high caliber of the various art organizations involved, we are confident that this will be a top-quality performance." The event, themed "When Light Becomes Flowers," will showcase a variety of performances from nine KACF-affiliated organizations, including classical and contemporary dance, traditional Korean percussion (samulnori), pansori (traditional Korean singing), and a hanbok fashion show. There will also be an exhibition honoring Korean independence activists.
Participating groups include the Gosuhee Dance Company, Mei Korean Dance Arts Institute, Gowoon Dance Company, Woori Sori Pansori School, Korean-American Dance Federation Ballet School, Samulnori Unyupungroe, Korean-American Line Dance Association, Western Photographers Association, and Super Senior USA Model Association. Vice President Jin Choi remarked, "Each organization has been practicing diligently for this event," and expressed hope that "many members of the Korean-American community will attend and experience both enjoyment and deep emotional resonance."
Tickets are $30, and free parking is available. Seniors aged 60 and older can attend for free. For inquiries, please call (323) 766-8181
